J. Hervé Proulx (1899-1960) (am_2142)

Click to enlargeHervé Proulx was born in Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec and studied at Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière, Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré and Rivière-du-Loup. In 1922, he married Marie-Anna Malenfant and moved to Edmundston where he first worked as a baker and grocer. He was, among other things, vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce and president of the Lions Club in Edmundston. He was the mayor of Edmundston from 1936 to 1946 and a Member of Parliament for Madawaska County from 1944 to 1948. Photo around 1936. Studio Laporte. PC1-116, collection CDEM, ShM.
