Ce projet vise à synthétiser les connaissances à l'égard des mesures d'harmonisation des intérêts industriels et autochtones ainsi que des études sur l'utilisation, l'occupation et les connaissances du territoire forestier chez les Premières nations. Cette revue des différentes études et enquêtes menées au Canada permettra entre autres d'identifier les meilleures pratiques afin d'assister les praticiens dans l'élaboration et la mise en place de telles pratiques collaboratives en matière de gestion durable des forêts.
This project seeks to review and synthesize Canadian experiences in harmonising the interests of Aboriginal peoples and the forest industry and in the use of traditional knowledge and land use occupancy studies in forestry. By reviewing existing research and completed studies, we hope to identify best practices that will help practioners (in industry, Aboriginal nations and governments) to develop and implement projects and programmes for improved collaboration in sustainable management.
