Grade 3 - St-Joseph Elementary School, St-Joseph (N.B.)
I visited Mrs Carole Landry's 3rd graders, St-Joseph school.
...to be so young and already have a scientific awareness! I was amazed at their approach to solving problems or finding answers to their questions pertaining to astronomy, by either asking a question or determining the problem they wanted to solve; deciding on the best hypothesis; doing the research which would either confirm or deny their hypothesis, and finally getting to a scientific conclusion.
I was amazed at the diversity of subjects they chose to study: from the Canadian Astronauts to the Big Bang!
During their research, all the students contacted me via e-mail, for help with their quest. I then added comments to their finds or directed them to web pages where they could find extra information.
Frankly, if these 8 or 9 year old students already know this much in astronomy, I am not at all worried that a Martian Colony is assured for the near futur!
Great work, Team!
